Anti-Glare Film Maintenance: How to Clean and Care for Your Installation

Anti-glare film is low-maintenance, but proper care extends its life significantly. Wait 30 days after installation before cleaning to allow the adhesive to fully cure. Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and a solution of mild dish soap and water — never use ammonia-based cleaners, abrasive pads, or razor blades. For stubborn spots, a 50/50 vinegar-water solution works well. Clean in straight, overlapping strokes rather than circular motions. In marine environments, rinse salt spray off film surfaces with fresh water regularly to prevent salt crystal buildup that can scratch the surface. Inspect film edges annually for lifting or peeling — early intervention with a heat gun and roller can re-seat edges before replacement is needed. With proper care, commercial-grade anti-glare film lasts 10-15 years. Blinds Concept provides care instructions with every installation and offers maintenance packages for commercial and marine clients.
