Day & Night Cellular Shade for Oversized Windows: Natural Light by Day, Privacy by Night

Not every window fits neatly into a standard size — and this project is a perfect example of why expertise matters. At nearly 110 inches wide, this oversized window presented a significant design and engineering challenge. Our solution: a custom-fabricated day & night cellular shade that delivers two distinct zones of light control within a single, seamless installation. What Is a Day & Night Cellular Shade? A day & night cellular shade — also known as a dual-zone or top-down bottom-up cellular shade — divides the window into two independently controlled sections: - Top zone (sheer / light-filtering): A translucent fabric panel that allows soft, diffused daylight to pour into the room while maintaining an open, airy feel. This two-zone design is particularly powerful in large living spaces where you need light and openness but still want privacy from street level or neighbouring properties. Why Cellular? The Energy Efficiency Advantage Cellular shades — also called honeycomb shades — are recognized as one of the most energy-efficient window covering options available. Their patented cell st…
