How to Measure Linked Roller Blinds

Linked rollers connect two or more blinds so they operate together with a single chain or motor — perfect for wide windows and sliding doors.

Width Measurement: Measure each section separately at the top, middle and bottom, recording the smallest measurement for each. Linked sets are typically used for spans wider than 2400 mm or above sliding glass doors.

Gap Between Sections: Allow approximately 5–10 mm gap between sections for the linking mechanism and bracket clearance. We design the gap into your quote — measure to the wall, not blind-to-blind.

Height: All linked blinds must share the same drop. Measure once from the top of the recess (or mounting point) to the sill and apply that height across every section.

Coordination Tips: Linked blinds look best when fabric and mechanism are identical across sections. Mixing collections changes the rolled diameter and the blinds will land at different heights.

Frequently asked questions

How many blinds can be linked together?

Two is standard. Three is doable with a heavier-duty mechanism, but motorisation is usually the better answer above two.

Should I motorize a linked set?

Yes if the total width exceeds 3 m — chain effort climbs quickly with each linked tube.

Can I link different fabrics?

Technically yes, but the diameters and brake feel will differ. We recommend the same fabric across the link.

Where does the chain end up?

On a linked pair, the chain sits on the outside of one end blind — you choose left or right at order time.
