Condo living in downtown Halifax offers incredible city views, vibrant energy, and floor-to-ceiling glass — but it also comes with unique challenges. Large windows in high-rise buildings can feel exposed, let in harsh direct sunlight, and make a space feel more like a fishbowl than a home. In this project, we installed custom sheer drapery panels throughout a downtown Halifax condo, delivering the perfect balance of privacy, light control, and refined style. Why Sheer Drapery Works in a Condo Setting Sheer drapery is one of the most popular choices for modern condos — and for good reason. Unlike solid curtains that block the view entirely, sheer fabric softens the incoming light and diffuses the cityscape into a gentle, atmospheric glow. You still see the skyline, the harbour, and the movement of the city outside, but through a veil that takes the edge off direct sun glare and creates a sense of warmth and intimacy. In a compact condo floor plan, heavy blackout curtains can make a room feel smaller and darker. Sheers do the opposite — they preserve the sense of openness and depth while still providing a layer of visual privacy during the day. From outside looking in, the sheer fabric obscures the interior enough that passersby and neighbouring buildings can't see details, giving you daytime privacy without sacrificing your view.
